ATTENTION DEFICIT/HYPERACTIVITY
ADHD is a complex neurodevelopmental condition that affects attention, executive function, and emotional regulation. For individuals with high intellectual abilities, ADHD can often go unnoticed as they mask symptoms through effort and coping strategies. However, the internal challenges—such as difficulty focusing, managing tasks, and emotional overwhelm—can be exhausting.
Key signs of ADHD include:
Difficulty sustaining attention, especially with tasks that feel unengaging.
Executive function challenges, like staying organized and prioritizing.
Emotional regulation struggles, including intense reactions and sensitivity.
Hyperfocus on tasks of personal interest, creating an imbalance in time management.
Chronic underachievement, despite hard work.
For those who mask their ADHD, it can feel isolating and overwhelming. Therapy can help uncover these hidden struggles, offering clarity and support to develop healthier coping strategies and embrace your true potential without overcompensating.
OUR APPROACH TO TREATMENT
We will take time to learn your symptoms, show you how they impact your day-to-day life and help you overcome them with proven treatments like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
As ADHD symptoms can exacerbate other mental health and addiction problems, we conduct ADHD screenings for all clients and offer ADHD assessments when appropriate.
In addition to assessments and psychotherapy, we provide executive functioning coaching ourselves or in collaboration with an outside coach. Such coaching instructs you with practical techniques for managing ADHD symptoms.
