ADDICTIVE BEHAVIORS
Life can be hard and we all develop ways to cope. Sometimes those behaviors can become problems themselves.
Substance use and/or process addictions (like sex or gambling addiction) may help in the short-term, but they can have harmful downsides. Coping with addictive behaviors likely helped at first, but over time you feel trapped in a cycle that only makes you feel worse and isolated.
OUR APPROACH TO TREATMENT
We use a team-based approach to provide effective treatment for substance use as well as for process and behavioral addictions (e.g sex addiction, technology addiction, gambling). We help clients along the harm reduction continuum, meaning we work with clients with both moderation and abstinence focused goals.
We also work with clients in “early recovery” and people who may not have an addictive disorder but simply want to modify habits. Our therapists use different psychotherapy approaches as needed, including motivational interviewing, a collaborative, goal-oriented treatment for behavior change. We help people change behaviors while also supporting the underlying challenges that these behaviors may have been used to manage, helping clients with loneliness and disconnection, trauma, OCD, ADHD, and/or depression.
