Transdiagnostic Therapy for Neurodivergent Adults

Many autistic and ADHD adults develop secondary challenges such as anxiety, OCD, complex trauma, addictive behaviors, eating disorders, depression and masking that has become unsustainable.

Instead of focusing on the various symptoms, Transdiagnostic Therapy targets the common neurobiological and psychosocial roots of such problems. It affirms clients’ unique needs and then uses a combination of mental health treatments and interventions tailored to meet those needs. The approaches may include mindfulness, exposure therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and emotion regulation training.

How TT Works

A critical first step is accurately identifying one’s neurodevelopmental profile as autism, ADHD, or neuro-complex. This recognition is essential as it guides personalized treatment planning and environmental accommodations.

Without this foundational knowledge, therapeutic interventions may be misaligned, limiting meaningful progress. We do not rush unmasking or push for rapid behavior change; rather, we create a safe environment for clients to reconnect gradually with what feels authentic and manageable.
