MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) was established 45 years ago as a way to help people manage stress, pain, and illness through mindfulness meditation and awareness practices. It can be used as a tool to increase awareness of the present moment and to develop a different relationship with thoughts and emotions.
HOW MBSR WORKS
MBSR is an effective tool combining body awareness, meditation, and acknowledgement of the present moment. When practiced regularly, MBSR has the power to enhance self-awareness, help manage stress, improve emotional regulation, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and enrich overall quality of life.
Incorporating MBSR into therapy provides additional resources and tools to address challenges. You and your therapist can work together to decide whether to incorporate as an effective way to manage stress and improve overall well-being.
